Photography

At the beginning of the term my topic was film production, but in the fourth week I changed it to photography. I changed my topic because I decided I was more interested in photography and I honestly saw more of a future in photography. Film production wouldn't get that far, unless you where really good, so I like photography better, because it could be a fun hobby.

My Steps:

Step One (Week 3):

My step for this week was to figure out which camera I liked the best and order it.

Step Two (Week 4):

My goal for this week was to figure out what most of the buttons mean and to practice taking photos.

Step Three (Week 5):

My goal this week is to research editors like photoshop and others, and to take more photos in different light settings.

Step Four (Week 6):

My goal this week is to grow my photography skills and find my editing style.

What I Learned....

The art of capturing moments seems easily attainable, but photography is more challenging than it may seem. You have to think about a tremendous amount of things, lighting, camera settings, and your subject. The odds aren’t in your favor. All of the components are constantly on the minds of professional photographers. For me the struggle was real at some points and at others the odds were in my favor. Here are the things I learned while on the journey.

  • Don’t take pictures outside on a partly sunny day, the lighting changes to often.

  • Don’t ask your little brother or best friend to be your model, they both can’t pose like a model.

  • Do mess around with your camera until you like the results.

  • Do take your camera everywhere, practice makes proficient!
